Young Photographers United (YPU) - established in 2001 as
a non-profit organisation - was created with the aim of supporting
young, talented, ambitious, up-and-coming photographers.
It has now grown to a collective of 150 photographers spread
all over the world and strongly anchored in Europe.
About the name “Young Photographers United”:
“Young” underlines the support of YPU for new, emerging
photographers who have the ambition and determination to
succeed, while “United” refers to openness. YPU unites photo-
graphers from all over the world regardless of nationality,
religion, colour or gender.
By joining an ambition driven collective such as YPU,
young photographers overcome some of the difficulties of the
evolving and resource-demanding market.
On their way to professional success, YPU involves the photo-
graphers in the creation of visionary photo collections, brings
them together in a stimulating forum and promotes them
through wide exposure of their work.
International-scale projects give the photographers a chance to benefit from opportunities on a worldwide level. At the same time, the work in a collective generates a dynamic of creativity where the photographers enter a competitive up-spiral, which pushes them to produce their best work. Those positive inputs help young photographers to develop and publish their vision of the world.
